Flint For Change

70% of business change efforts fail... we can help yours succeed.

Recently I was working with a client who's industry is facing massive levels of change over the coming years driven by deregulation.

We put all members of the team through the "Change Style Indicator" (see http://www.discoverylearning.com/products/change-style-indicator.aspx). The survey threw up some really interesting results. 58% of the team were inclined to prefer to deal with change in an incremental way ("Conservers"). In contrast, 4% preferred transformational change ("Originators") with the rest of the employees taking a "what ever works" ("Pragmatists") approach.

This created a fascinating substrate for a really in-depth discussion about the challenges this would present as their industry is thrown into turmoil over the coming months. This allowed the team to understand the important of flexing styles to meet the needs of change. While the Conservers in the team will be critical to keep an eye on the ball, the 4% of Originators in the organisation will need team members to flex and support them in order to generate new and risky possibilities for the organisation.

I will keep you updated!
